Application of anti fall device in vertical shaft maintenance work

The anti fall device is an essential safety protection equipment for high-altitude operations, which can achieve self-locking at the moment of falling through the engagement of the ratchet and pawl. In fact, anti fall devices are not only used for high-altitude operations, but also for rescue work in vertical shafts and maintenance work of equipment inside wells.

It is necessary to wear a fall arrester when the height reaches two meters, and this height does not only refer to the vertical upward height, but also includes the vertical downward depth. Taking urban sewage wells as an example, the depth of urban sewage wells is generally around seven to eight meters. If they accidentally fall at this depth, it will inevitably cause serious injuries and even endanger life.

The usual underground operation uses a lifting tripod to be mounted on the wellhead. The lifting tripod is used as a suspension point for the anti fall device and safety rope. The workers are pulled by the safety rope and slowly lowered by the hand winch. The anti fall device suspended on the tripod is also connected to the workers at the end of the steel wire rope. Without accelerating the descent, the steel wire rope can freely expand and contract, and the workers do not feel pulled. Once the safety rope suddenly breaks, the self-locking function of the anti fall device can be activated in a short time to prevent accidents from falling into the well.
