Before using a speed differential anti fall device, there is an essential key step, which is to quickly pull the steel wire rope several times to test its self-locking ability. It should be emphasized here that it is not just pulling once, but that at least three pull tests must be conducted before each use.
So, what is the purpose of pulling the steel wire rope? It mainly covers two aspects: first, checking whether the anti fall device has rope jamming phenomenon; Secondly, verify whether the self-locking ability of the anti fall device meets the standard. Today, we will focus on the self-locking ability of fall arresters.
The self-locking braking principle of the anti fall device is similar to that of a car seat belt. When accelerating suddenly, the ratchet inside the anti fall device will be thrown out by centrifugal force, and the thrown ratchet will interlock with the pawl, thereby achieving braking. After the external force is released, the ratchet and pawl separate, and the steel wire rope can be smoothly retracted into the shell of the anti fall device.
We conduct a rapid pull wire rope test to apply an instantaneous acceleration force to the anti fall device, in order to test its internal self-locking ability. This self-locking ability is the core key to the anti fall function of the anti fall device. Only by carefully conducting a hand pull test can we preliminarily determine whether the anti fall device is intact and undamaged.
