If the safety rope of the speed differential device cannot be retracted normally, refer to the method described in the text

After using the fall arrester, the worker at height needs to retract its safety rope for easy storage and organization. What should he do if he encounters a situation where the safety rope cannot be retracted normally?

We need to devise correct solutions based on the causes. Firstly, the elasticity of the steel belt is greatly weakened due to prolonged use or excessive usage of the speed differential device. Secondly, the safety rope is not retracted in time after use, causing the steel belt to be overly stretched and resulting in fatigue. Thirdly, the steel belt breaks, preventing the safety rope from being retracted normally.

In any of the above three situations, the speed differential device needs to be returned to the factory for repair. To avoid the situation where the safety rope cannot be retracted normally, we can conduct a contraction performance test on the speed differential device before use. After ensuring that it is functioning correctly, we can proceed with high-altitude operations. During regular use, the load capacity of the speed differential device should not be exceeded. After use, the safety rope should be retracted in a timely manner to effectively relax the steel belt.

The safety ropes of the speed differential device come in two types of materials: webbing and steel wire rope. Both of these materials can be retracted using the method mentioned above.
