Fall arrester for high-altitude operations enhances construction safety on Chongqing-Guizhou Expressway

The expansion project of Chongqing Guizhou Expressway is currently under active construction. According to the planning and design, the expressway adopts a wider two-way six lane construction standard. After completion, it will increase the number of routes for car owners and greatly alleviate the traffic congestion of the existing Chongqing Guizhou Expressway.

Due to the high terrain and numerous mountain ranges in Chongqing and Guizhou, the construction of the entire project is difficult. Faced with these challenges, the construction design team continuously improves the construction plan by combining the terrain and existing construction equipment, striving to accelerate the construction progress and ensure the quality of the project. During the construction of the bridge, engineers have developed a construction trolley that integrates multiple functions such as lifting, hoisting, walking, and dismantling for outdoor use. This type of vehicle does not require workers to suspend it from the work site, but only needs to wear a high-altitude work speed differential and safety helmet, and stand in a safety basket to complete the work. The use of the speed differential safety device can increase the safety guarantee of the workers and avoid safety hazards.

The comprehensive use of various equipment and machinery has saved half of the working hours in bridge construction and improved operational safety. Next, the workers will carry out the right beam erection work.
