The role of power springs in safety fall arresters

A safety fall arrester is a safety protection device that utilizes the speed difference generated when an object falls, allowing the ratchet and pawl to quickly brake and lock the falling object. It is designed for the human body and can only be used when hanging high or low.

Inside the safety anti fall device, there is a power spring device. Within the radius of use, that is, during normal use, the steel wire rope can freely expand and contract by relying on the internal power spring. Under the action of the internal mechanism, it is in a semi tense state, providing safety protection for the operator. Whenever the speed of pulling out the steel wire rope increases, the internal claws will catch the rapidly rotating ratchet wheel, and the power spring will also stop freely extending and retracting, thus achieving automatic locking.

In safety fall arresters, power springs play a very important role, storing 25% to 55% more energy than traditional springs. Its shrinkage performance is closely related to the expansion and contraction performance of the anti fall device steel wire rope, so manufacturers often use stainless steel material to make power springs. As long as they are used reasonably, rusting and jamming will not occur.
