In order to comprehensively improve the "health level" of transmission equipment and lines in Hami City, State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company actively carried out line maintenance work, fired the "first shot" of operation and maintenance in 2020, and provided power guarantee for the comprehensive resumption of production and work in Hami City.

On April 7th, at the 220 kV Sitian substation, staff from the substation maintenance center of State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company were conducting power outage maintenance. The 220 kV Sitian Substation is located 190 kilometers southeast of Hami City, responsible for the power supply load of six traction stations including Weiya Traction Station and Sitian Traction Station. It mainly provides safe and reliable power supply for the Lanxin Line 1 and Lanxin Line 2 high-speed railways.

Huang Hui, the person in charge of the substation maintenance center of State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company, said, "The main contents of our maintenance include the detachment of pins on the gantry, inadequate sealing of isolation switches, and transmission experiments of circuit breakers

At a distance of 1 kilometer outside the 750 kV Yandun substation, the maintenance team of the Transmission Operation and Inspection Center of State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company carried out insulator replacement work on the 3rd straight tower. The 750 kV Yandun Substation is located 60 kilometers east of Hami, mainly responsible for supplying power to six electrified railway traction stations including the Sitian Line 1 and Line 2.

Wang Xiaopeng, deputy team leader of the East Xinjiang Operation and Maintenance Team of State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company, said, "This is our first risk compensation site of the year. Therefore, our operation and maintenance personnel will conduct special patrols and protection on it from 7am to 23:00 all day to ensure uninterrupted power supply

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Yan Xueshi and his colleagues from the maintenance team of the transmission operation and inspection center of State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company have been sticking to their work posts. Yan Xueshi is from Jilin City, Jilin Province. His wife and one-and-a-half-year-old son returned to their hometown in September last year. Before the Spring Festival, Yan Xueshi had already bought a train ticket to go home. However, after receiving the order to stay behind, he resolutely returned the train ticket, gave up the opportunity to reunite with his family, and stayed behind to ensure the power transmission of the unit.

Yan Xueshi told reporters, "Before the epidemic, I had already submitted my application to join the Party organization. I should have strictly demanded myself like a Communist Party member, not backing down in the face of difficulties, leading the team to do a good job in the operation and maintenance of transmission lines, and ensuring the reliable operation of power supply

The total length of the line from 220 kV Sitian Substation to 750 kV Yandun Substation is 51.227 kilometers, with a total of 139 base towers. Since the full resumption of work, State Grid Xinjiang Hami Power Supply Company has conducted operation and inspection of the line from 220 kV Sitian Substation to 750 kV Yandun Substation, adhering to the maintenance principle of "repair must be done, repair must be done well". 

On April 7th and 8th, a total of 1 insulator was replaced, 3 grading rings were adjusted, 37 tower foundations were inspected, and 57 defects were eliminated. After the completion of this maintenance work, all defects and hidden dangers in the 220 kV Sitian substation to 750 kV Yandun substation line will be eliminated, and the reliability of power supply will be comprehensively improved.
