When carrying out high-altitude operations, it is necessary to wear a fall arrester, which can automatically lock in the moment the operator falls, thereby ensuring the safety of the operator's life. Fall arresters are usually used in conjunction with safety belts. The operator wears a safety belt and then fixes one end of the fall arrester to a safety fixing point at a high place, while the other end is connected to the safety belt.

For friends who are familiar with high-altitude operations, they should know that the anti fall device on the seat belt is usually connected to the upper back position, and the connection fixing point of the seat belt is generally designed at this position. So, what are the requirements for this position?

The reason why the hook connection point of the seat belt is chosen at this position is to ensure a comfortable and safe posture for high-altitude workers who have slipped while suspended in mid air, that is, a semi overhead state. This posture can ensure that the worker feels more secure. At the same time, the operator can observe the surrounding conditions at any time while waiting for rescue, and can also complete self rescue under suitable conditions.

If the connection point is in the chest position, the person who has slipped will be in a suspended state with their face facing upwards, unable to observe the surrounding situation. Even if conditions permit self rescue, they will become unaware in this position. If trapped in this state at a height of three or four meters, the worker may not even be able to untie the anti fall device and jump off on their own, because the upward posture cannot adjust the balance of the body, which can easily cause physical injury when landing, while the downward posture can adjust the posture well when falling, ensuring their own safety.

So the hook connection point of the safety belt's anti fall device is generally located on the back rather than the chest, which is the issue that designers considered at the beginning of the design.
